At Temple Violins, we believe that music is to be revered. And your personal expression of that music is our first priority. We want to help make your experience as effortless and enjoyable as possible so that you can focus on what's important; filling the world with more music, more beauty.

We are a full service shop, providing consultations on repair work, offering set-up optimization, instruments for sale and a rental program that was developed with the local community in mind.

Our Violin makers

Michael began his career in woodworking in the mid 90's as a furniture and cabinet maker. With a deep love of music and a desire to practice a more traditional craft, he eventually turned to violinmaking. He began an apprenticeship in the workshop of Francis Morris where he stayed for 11 years. Michael has been awarded a Certificate of Merit for Tone at the 2018 Violin Society of America's international violinmaking competition. He also teaches violin set-up and varnishing courses at UNH violin craftmanship institute. He is a co-founder of Temple Violins.

Jonathan has been in the business of repairing and making violins for 16 years. A multi-instrumentalist, he studied violin with Gennady Filimanov of the Seattle Symphony, and composition with grammy winning composer Joan Tower. He is active professionally playing jazz with The Lucky Five and as a freelance studio musician. Jonathan also teaches violin, viola and beginning cello.  He is a co-founder of Temple Violins.
